December 27, 2012
On December 14, 2012, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation that will transfer oversight of community mental health services in the Detroit area from the county mental health agency to a new community mental health (CMH) authority. The transfer to the new structure and compliance with procedures and policies governing CMH authorities must be completed by June 1, 2013, in order to be eligible to contract with the state Department of Community Health (DCH) to operate a specialty prepaid inpatient health plan (PIHP) for behavioral health services.
