Pennsylvania DHS Medical Assistance Bulletin: Hospital Responsibilities Related To The Uncompensated Care Program & Charity Care Plans

The bulletin was released on December 27, 2017, by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). DHS notified hospitals that they must inform consumers about whether or not the consumer qualifies for the hospital charity care program. Failure to inform consumers about the program and whether or not a consumer qualifies will limit the hospital’s ability to claim reimbursement from the state’s uncompensated care fund . . .
