2014 National Drug Control Strategy
In July 2014, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy released its 2014 update to the national drug control strategy. The strategy document was developed on the premise that illicit drug use is a public health issue, not just a criminal justice problem. The plan calls for reforming the U.S. criminal justice system to find alternatives to incarceration – and effective interventions across the entire system to get people the treatment they need.
