CMS Informational Bulletin: Update On Preventive Services Initiatives

In November 2013,  the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS') Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) released an information bulletin highlighting opportunities for provision of preventive services to Medicaid-eligible individuals. CMS states that physicians or other licensed practitioners recommend preventive services, but that delivery of preventive services may be provided, at state option, by practitioners other than physicians or other licensed practitioners. This rule change is effective January 1, 2014.
