Community Behavioral Health Did Not Comply With Requirements When Denying Prior Authorization Requests Report Highlights
In June 2026, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) audited Community Behavioral Health (CBH)and found challenges, including insufficient oversight and limited access to specialists, that may reduce the quality of behavioral health care services provided to Medicaid enrollees. None of the 100 denied service requests that were sampled met all requirements for denying behavioral health service requests that required prior authorization.
