Comprehensive Addiction & Recovery Act Of 2016
On July 14, 2016 the U.S. Senate passed the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016 (CARA) and the Act was sent to the President’s desk to be signed into the law. The law makes provisions for: grants to state, local and non-profit organizations; research related to addiction; education campaigns; department of Veterans Affairs reforms; and nurse practitioners and physician assistants to prescribe medication assisted treatment drugs in office settings . . .
