Fact Sheet: Veterans Access, Choice & Accountability Act Of 2014

On August 7, 2014, President Obama signed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care reform act (H.R. 3230), commonly referred to as The Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014 (Choice Act). The Choice Act provides new authorities, funding, and other tools to help support and reform VA including; improvement of access to care from non-VA providers; additional expansion of access to care; reviewing and expanding capacity and processes; new health care staffing; health care related to sexual trauma, and departmental personnel authorities and related procedures . . .
