Illinois Senate Bill 2294: An Act Concerning Regulation For Illinois Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics
On July 6, 2021, the Illinois Senate passed this Bill 2294 concerning regulation for Illinois certified community behavioral health clinics (CCBHCs). The bill creates the Illinois Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics program, as of January 1, 2022. Under legislation, the Illinois Department Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) will expand the Medicaid program to cover new behavioral health services, and create a comprehensive statewide behavioral health strategy.
