MACPAC Final Report On State Strategies To Promote Value-Based Payment Through Medicaid Managed Care

The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission published the report in March 2020. The report examines the different strategies states use to increase the adoption and use of value-based payments among Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs). The study utilizes data from interviews with state officials, MCOs, and other stakeholders in Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, and South Carolina on the use and effectiveness of contracting strategies to promote payment reform in Medicaid managed care, integration and other reform strategies, monitoring and evaluation of payment reforms, and challenges to implementing payment reform initiatives . . .
