Peers Roles In Health Integration From The SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions & The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare

In November 2012, the SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions and National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare published a PowerPoint addressing the role played by peer support specialists in providing integrated care. Topics covered include: 1) History of Peer Support; 2) Benefits of Peer Support; 3) Peer Workers Supervision Tips; and 4) Example from the field: Cobb County Community Services Board (GA). The presentation also includes discussion of Peer-Run Wellness Programs, including WHAM – Whole Health Action Management Peer Support Training.
