Permanent Supportive Housing – An Evidence-Based Practice
In April 2010, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) released a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation summarizing the evidence-based toolkit for permanent supportive housing (PSH). The PPT covers the six core principles in addition to various approaches to permanent supportive housing: 1) Choice in housing and living arrangements; 2) Functional separation of housing and services; 3) Decent, safe, and affordable housing; 4) Community integration and rights of tenancy; 5) Access to housing and privacy; and 6) Flexible, voluntary, and recovery-focused services.
