About 26% of adolescents ages 12 through 17 had not had their vision tested in the past 12 months, and 74% did receive testing. Vision testing was less frequently reported among adolescents who were older, male, or uninsured; had caregivers with less than high school education; and were from a family born outside the U.S.

About 51% of those who received vision testing were tested at an eye clinic. About 22% were tested at a primary care clinic, and 11% were tested at a school-based clinic. About 4% were tested at a health center.
