Walmart is preparing to pilot an employee health plan program with Embold Health that will recommend physicians based on performance. The pilot is taking place in northwest Arkansas; Orlando/Tampa, Florida; and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. The program is called “Featured Providers.” It will recommend high-performing physicians accepting new consumers in eight specialties: Primary care, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, obstetrics, oncology, orthopedics, and pulmonology. The Featured Provider program will be available starting in January 2020.
