On February 11, 2019, Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) launched its Healthy Housing Initiative in partnership with Catholic Charities agencies in Detroit, Michigan; Las Vegas, Nevada; Portland, Oregon; St. Louis, Missouri; and Spokane, Washington. In each of the five cities, the initiative seeks to reduce chronic homelessness by 20%, reduce hospital readmission rates by at least 25%, and connect 35% of newly housed persons with primary care and behavioral health services.
