In October 2021, the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) launched an employment program to help working age adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) find competitive employment. For the program, the DDPC works with state agencies that have open entry-level or administrative support positions, and then will help identify qualified candidates with developmental disabilities. The DDPC also seeks to encourage private sector employers to hire more candidates with I/DD.
