The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) said it will establish the Golisano Intellectual and Developmental (I/DD) Institute. The announcement comes after billionaire philanthropist Tom Golisano donated $50 million to establish the transdisciplinary center, which will aim to offer solutions to the health and quality of life issues that affect people with I/DD.  Specifically, the Golisano Institute is anticipated to expand URMC's strengths in I/DD consumer care, community outreach, and caregiver support programs.
