Texas has four managed care programs that serve subsets of the Medicaid population. The STAR, STAR+PLUS, and STAR Kids programs operate statewide, with plans available regionally in 13 service areas. STAR Health is a statewide program served by a single health plan, Superior (Centene). Eligible individuals who choose not to enroll in STAR Health must enroll in STAR or STAR Kids.
