Biography

Newbear Lesniewski brings more than 20 years of experience with some of the world’s favoritebrands (Nike, Oakley, Under Armour) and its most innovative agencies (R/GA, AKQA) to the OPENMINDS team. He currently serves as the General Manager of our Market Intelligence team where heprovides strategic oversight and leadership to strategy and senior editors.​

Mr. Lesniewski was most recently the Executive Director of Brand Creative & Communications atSt. Clair Health in Pittsburgh, PA. There, he modernized the mission, vision and values to serve as anarrative bedrock for their system-wide strategic planning roadmap and initiatives while driving HealthSciences, GME & UME creative development for St. Clair’s residency program launch and supportingacademic infrastructure of the EDU LAB. Before his promotion to Executive Director, Mr. Lesniewskilaunched rebrand initiatives as St. Clair Hospital expanded to become a fully integrated healthcaresystem, managed agency partners, and led the creation of cohesive brand content for internal andexternal communications as Director of Brand & Content Strategy. ​

Prior to that, Mr. Lesniewski was the Associate Creative Director at Grey Group in Cincinnati, Ohio.In this role, he developed creative and engaging advertisements and omnichannelcontent for VOLVO, Procter & Gamble, UPMC, and Amazon, working with WPP partners around theglobe, including Creative Council and new business initiatives. ​

Before that, Mr. Lesniewski was the Senior Manager of Copy & Creative Strategy for GNC inPittsburg, PA. Here, he set the creative strategy, revamped the copywriting team and implementedcross-functional communication and collaboration to bring owned and third-party brands to marketacross both performance and wellness verticals. ​

Mr. Lesniewski holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Journalism from the University of Kentucky, wherehe earned Academic All-SEC Honors (Football) and was appointed as the university’s representativefor the Nike Adrenaline Program. He earned a Master of Science degree in Sports Business fromDuquesne University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the University ofNebraska-Omaha after being awarded the prestigious University of Nebraska RegentsScholarship. Mr. Lesniewski lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and their four children.
