April Rhodes, MBA, MAS-MFT, brings over 15 years of experience in the behavioral health industry to the OPEN MINDS team, with expertise in community mental health, facility budgeting, crisis response, and relationship cultivation. Ms. Rhodes has served in the health care fields of behavioral health, adult and child mental health, clinical and outpatient services. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Spectrum Healthcare Group in Cottonwood, Arizona.

In her current role at Spectrum Healthcare Group, Ms. Rhodes is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic planning, budgetary planning, and developing and maintaining partnerships. Ms. Rhodes also developed innovative award-winning programs, such as Mobile Crisis Response that allows first responders and community members 24/7 access to behavioral health crisis support. Ms. Rhodes further assisted as the Interim CEO of Touchstone Health Services in order to combine organizational resources with Spectrum Healthcare Group. Ms. Rhodes efforts at Touchstone facilitated a $3 million net revenue swing from loss position to profit position.

At Spectrum Healthcare Group, Ms. Rhodes also served as the Deputy Director and Children’s Program Director. As Deputy Director, she coordinated with the CEO and implemented all administrative strategies within RBHA regulations and developed all communication policies in accordance with board policies. Ms. Rhodes also evaluated progress and effectiveness of all staff. As Children’s Program Director, Ms. Rhodes managed and directed a workforce of 18, working collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer and Child Psychiatrist, to deliver quality behavioral health services with an annual budget of $3.3 million.

Prior to her time at Spectrum Healthcare Group, Ms. Rhodes served as a Child and Family Therapist for Verde Valley Guidance Clinic. In this role, she provided behavioral health services in an outpatient community-based program serving children, adolescents and their families.

Ms. Rhodes holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University. Ms. Rhodes received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Arizona State University.
