Brent Bowers brings over 30 years of experience in the health and human services industry to the OPEN MINDS team, with expertise in business development and marketing, strategic planning, compliance policy and procedures, regulatory agency and EHR compliance, and program development. He currently serves as a Senior Associate in the OPEN MINDS consulting practice.
Prior to his role with OPEN MINDS, Mr. Bowers served as the Director of Business Development for Aurora Las Encinas Hospital. In this role, Mr. Bowers was responsible for census growth at the 118-bed free-standing psychiatric facility. He implemented key marketing and business development strategic initiatives, meeting all organizational budget targets by increasing census by 35% in a two-year period. Mr. Bowers also helped to shape a positive public image for a facility that formerly carried reputation challenges.
Before his time at Aurora Las Encinas Hospital, Mr. Bowers served as a Facility Administrator and Operations Manager for Passages Malibu. In this role, Mr. Bowers managed all day-to-day functions of a high-end substance abuse treatment center. Mr. Bowers expanded operations from 12 to 35 beds, developed departments and management teams for a staff of over 100 employees, and conducted weekly and monthly trainings to ensure good delivery of quality services.
Prior to his role at Passages Malibu, Mr. Bowers served as the Business Development Director at Montevista Hospital. In this role, Mr. Bowers was responsible for marketing planning for the hospital – developing the marketing budget and implementing marketing strategy. Mr. Bowers also increased contract rates and negotiated agreements to better fit the needs of the hospital, while supervising and managing the sales team.
Previously, Mr. Bowers served as the Divisional Director of Business Development for Universal Health Services, where he provided management and marketing consultation for over 39 behavioral health care hospitals across the country.
Mr. Bowers received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Northridge.
