Miguel Garibay brings over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health and human services field to the OPEN MINDS team. His wide range of expertise includes strategic planning, federal grant, contract, and RFP preparation, business development, technology assessment and implementation, operational management and executive leadership.

Prior joining OPEN MINDS, Mr. Garibay served as the Vice President of Administration and Operations for Center Point, Inc. In this role, Mr. Garibay was responsible for the management and supervision of business services and human resources. Mr. Garibay also coordinated the preparation and submission of RFP’s, IFB’s, and federal grants and contracts with local, state, and federal funders.

At Center Point, Mr. Garibay also served as the Director of Operations and Executive Administrator. As Director of Operations, Mr. Garibay oversaw the day-to-day operations of the corporate office and business services. Mr. Garibay was also responsible for budget and cost control, maintaining agency’s website and marketing, and coordinated new strategy implementation. In his role as Executive Administrator, Mr. Garibay assisted the CEO in special projects, grant proposals and contract renewals.

Before his roles at Center Point, Mr. Garibay served as the Community Education Coordinator for Marin Grassroots Leadership Network, where he designed and implemented trainings, communications, community events and member services programs for the organization.

Previously, Mr. Sheehan served as the Associate Director of the Parent Institute for Quality Education. In this role, Mr. Garibay was responsible for program management and administration of school site programs. He also supervised and recruited instructors and monitored parent outreach.

Mr. Garibay received a bachelor’s degree from the National Hispanic University.
