Nicole Javitt, J.D., brings a unique experience to the OPEN MINDS team with a background in legal advocacy, research, and writing. Ms. Javitt currently works on the OPEN MINDS Executive Education team, where she supports the research, development, and finalization of the company’s education services.
Ms. Javitt’s previous experience includes work for several general practice law firms where she represented families and children in family law and mental health cases. She also has experience and knowledge of the criminal court system, representing numerous clients for drug and alcohol related crimes.
In addition, Ms. Javitt previously served as a Title Reviewer for BOP Land Services, a full-service land broker in the oil and gas industry. In this role, Ms. Javitt reviewed mineral title research, made title approval decisions, and evaluated third-party leases for oil and gas leasing based on third-party research, surface and mineral ownership, tax assessment data, and other environmental factors.
Ms. Javitt also has professional experience as an Associate Attorney with Dethlefs-Pykosh Law Group (DPLG) and Stuart M. Levine, ESQ, PC (deceased). In this role, Ms. Javitt represented and advised clients on a variety of legal matters and conducted extensive legal research in areas of estate administration, family law, corporate law, and workers’ compensation. Throughout the legal process, she was responsible for drafting various legal documents and participated in stages of litigation, including case strategy, pleadings, argument court, arbitration, and hearings. Ms. Javitt also contributed numerous articles on financial and estate planning to DPLG’s blog.
Ms. Javitt earned her Juris Doctor degree at Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, PA, and passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam in 2010. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
