Rita Morris is an accomplished health care strategy executive that brings diverse expertise encompassing market research/competitive profiling, enterprise-wide strategic planning, program/network development, business development, and client relationship management to the OPEN MINDS team.
Ms. Morris launched her professional career at Advocate Atrium Health (Carolinas Health Systems) as Assistant Vice President, Service Line Planning & Development. In that role, she led strategic planning efforts for key service lines across systems in collaboration with the senior physician and administrative leadership team and served as the ongoing strategic business planning partner. As part of the health system transformation, she implemented new organization structures and developed new committee charters and responsibility charts. At Advocate Atrium, she also conducted detailed situation assessments, market evaluations, organizational structure reviews, and service line performance reviews. In that work, she developed service line performance dashboards and scorecards for ongoing management and senior leadership review.
Ms. Morris also served as the Senior Healthcare Strategic Advisor at HDR, Inc. In this role, she was the chief strategic advisor, project, and data analysis manager for clients while also directing and facilitating internal multidisciplinary teams of consultants, analysts, researchers, architects, and others while building strategic frameworks, model scenarios, and delivered powerful results for healthcare clients. She navigated the intersection of strategy, clinical care, operations, and technology to translate findings and solutions for key stakeholders.
Previously, she served as the Senior Principal, Member Performance at Vizient, Inc. and as the Director, Healthcare Strategic Advisory at Navigant Consulting, Inc. She prepared several multi-year enterprise strategic plans for a variety of health care systems with a focus on surviving in the value-based environment, delivering consumer-centric care, and generating growth. Ms. Morris also developed comprehensive, system-wide strategic plans that included vision, goals, objectives, performance measures, market assessments, new revenue opportunities, competitive profiles, consumer profiling/segmentation, physician analyses and strategy, alignment/partnership needs, financial and operational gap assessments, and implementation plans.
Ms. Morris earned her Master of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Health Administration and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
