Sandy Rogers brings over 30 years of experience in public relations and writing experience in the healthcare field to the OPEN MINDS team. Her areas of expertise include media relations, communications planning, marketing, publications management, and technical writing and editing.
Before joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Rogers served as a freelance writer for a number of organizations in the healthcare field including hospitals, associations, long-term care providers, and physicians offices. In this role, she produced content to educate the patient population, family caregivers, and physicians on best practices. During this period, Ms. Rogers wrote articles, press releases, managed a monthly newsletter and magazine and co-authored a variety of seminars and training.
Previously, Ms. Rogers served as the Director of Communications with Montgomery County Medical Society. In this role, she managed all communications, marketing, media relations, and community outreach. She also was responsible for leading a program that joined members of the legislature, business community, and the media with physicians in real-time healthcare environments to educate and stimulate dialogue on medical issues.
Ms. Rogers’ prior positions include Director of Membership for the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce; Public Relations Aide for The Washington Post; and Coordinator of Chapter Services for March of Dimes Foundation.
Ms. Rogers received her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and journalism from the Honors Program at the University of Maryland.
