23% Of People Who Had Mild To Moderate COVID Still Have Symptoms Two Years Later
Two years after contracting a mild to moderate case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), about 23% of people continue to experience persistent symptoms, such as shortness of breath, fatigue, anxiety, difficulty focusing/brain fog, and memory loss. After 12 months, about 50.5% had at least one persistent symptom, nearly 40% had at least two symptoms, and about 35% had three or more symptoms. The most common symptoms were shortness of breath (25%), fatigue (24%) anxiety (21%), difficulty focusing/brain fog (18%), body aches (18%), and headaches (16%).
