Commercially insured adults with chronic health conditions are more likely than consumers without chronic conditions to have medical debt, nonmedical debt, delinquent debt, a low credit score, or recent bankruptcy. About 32% of consumers with from seven to 13 chronic health conditions had medical debt in collections, compared to 7.6% of consumers without chronic health conditions.
