Los Angeles County ‘Just In Reach’ Pay For Success Jail Diversion Program Reduced 42% To 113% Of Prior Service Costs For Participants
A pay-for-success (PFS) jail diversion program in Los Angeles County, California is projected to have reduced county spending compared to their costs in the year before entering the program. The program, called “Just in Reach (JIR),” started in 2017. Overall, from 42% to 113% of the JIR PFS participants’ service costs in the 12 months prior to participating in the program were offset by reductions in other areas in the year after they entered the program.
