57% Of School Superintendents Foresee Scaling Back COVID-19 Investments By 2024

A total of 57% of surveyed school superintendents said that after federal coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emergency funds (American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds) run out in September 2024, their districts will need to cut or scale back summer programming. A total of 53% of superintendents say their districts will also have to end personnel contracts with specialized staff, such as counselors, social workers, and reading teachers.
