Vancouver, Washington Stay Safe Homeless Housing Linked To Lower Police Activity & 30% Retention Rate

The Stay Safe Homeless Housing (SSHH) program in Vancouver, Washington is linked to lower police activity, and has housed 30% of individuals long-term (14 of 46 residents) who were referred when the program began in December 2021. Ten more individuals are working with a case manager to obtain housing. This first Safe Stay Community provides 20 modular shelters housing up to 40 people. The program provides social services to help the participants secure permanent housing to transition out of homelessness.
