CMS Proposes Simplifying Medicaid Eligibility, Enrollment & Renewal
On September 7, 2022, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a proposed rule that includes numerous changes to Medicaid eligibility and enrollment processes. The proposal broadly establishes a 12-month eligibility period, requires states to provide pre-populated renewal applications, and eliminates the state option to require an in-person interview for renewal.
