Children & Young Adults With Down Syndrome Four Times More Likely To Have Diabetes

The incidence of any type of diabetes among children and young people with Down Syndrome is up to four times higher than incidence among the general population. A contributing factor is that people with Down Syndrome have a higher body mass index (BMI) at younger ages than the general population.
