14 States Awarded $177 Million In Federal Funding For Projects Increasing Competitive Integrated Employment For People With I/DD

Fourteen states were recently selected to share $177 million in federal grants for demonstration projects increase access to competitive integrated employment (CIE) for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). The U.S. Department of Education’s Rehabilitation Services Administration for Subminimum Wage to CIE (SWTCIE) awarded the funding on September 30, 2022. The awards range in size from $3.7 million to $13.9 million. The states are: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.
