The South Dakota Medicaid program plans to extend its demonstration waiver to provide Medicaid benefits to youth under age 26 who were formerly in foster care. The state submitted a waiver extension on October 20, 2022, asking the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval to run the program through April 30, 2028.
