Kentucky Launches ‘Prison To Work Pipeline’ Program To Help State Inmates Obtain Jobs On Release

On November 7, 2022, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, announced the Kentucky Department of Corrections' (DOC's) "Prison to Pipeline" program. The goal of this program is for each inmate in the state's 13 state prisons and 19 local jails to obtain employment even before returning to society. Information is not available regarding what types of jobs might be offered to inmates. However, there are currently more than 160,000 open jobs throughout the commonwealth and less than 80,000 people actively looking for a career.
