Indiana Launches A Family Preservation Pilot In Two County Courts

The Indiana Supreme Court Office of Court Services Children and Families Division worked with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) to implement Upstream pilots in local courts in LaPorte and Tippecanoe counties. The pilots are focused on building cross-system stakeholder collaborations to ensure that families at risk of child welfare involvement have access to community-based, coordinated, and comprehensive prevention and intervention networks. Upstream is a community-based approach that leverages judicial leadership and child welfare agency partnerships to enhance community collaboration through state and local coordination, community mapping and action planning.
