Feds Approve California’s Medicaid Reentry Services Demonstration For People In Jails, Prisons & Youth Correctional Facilities
On January 26, 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved California’s Medicaid waiver to provide Medicaid reimbursement for a limited package of reentry services provided before a beneficiary is released from jail, prison, or youth correctional facility. The waiver also applies to the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
