For fiscal year 2012-13, California's budget presents a total of $61.0 billion for the support of Department of Health Care Services. Of the amount proposed, $506.1 million is for state operations and $60.4 billion is for local assistance. The proposed budget contains proposals that attempt to balance the need to operate within a responsible budget yet affirm DHCS's commitment to address the health care needs of Californians.
