16.3 Million People Signed Up For Health Insurance Marketplace Plans During Open Enrollment

According to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), approximately 16.3 million individuals enrolled in Health Insurance Marketplace plans or Basic Health Program plans during the 2023 Marketplace Open Enrollment Period (OEP) that ran from November 1, 2022, through January 15, 2023, for most marketplaces. This is a 13% increase from the 2022 OEP, representing 1.8 million more sign-ups. The number of people enrolling in Marketplace plans for the first time increased by 21% between the 2022 OEP and the 2023 OEP.
For the 2023 OEP, total plan selections include 3.6 million people . . .
