Nebraska Adopts Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Act, Will Seek Medicaid PPS
On May 26, 2023, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen signed Legislative Bill 276 (LB 276) to enact the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Act. CCBHCs are outpatient behavioral health clinics that offer an expanded range of services—including 24/7 access, crisis services, and care coordination for mental health and addiction treatment. The legislation directs the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to submit a Medicaid state plan amendment to implement the CCBHC model and a prospective payment system (PPS).
