New Jersey’s Cumberland County, Agrees To Improve Jail Mental Health Care & Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment For Opiate/Opioid Withdrawal
The Cumberland County Department of Corrections in New Jersey have agreed to a consent decree from the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide adequate behavioral health services at the Cumberland County Jail (CCJ). Specifically, CCJ will provide access to mental health care to incarcerated individuals at risk of self-harm and suicide, in addition to providing access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for incarcerated individuals experiencing opiate or opioid withdrawal.
