13% Of California Medicare Beneficiaries Have Income Just Above The Medicaid Limit & 48% Of Those Are Age 75 Or Older
Of all California Medicare (Medi-Cal) beneficiaries, 13% have income just above the Medi-Cal income limit (139% to 220% of the Federal poverty limit [FPL]), meaning that they are not eligible for Medi-Cal long-term services and supports (LTSS). The report, by ATI Advisory for the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), a total of 48% of these lower income Medi-Cal beneficiaries are age 75 years and older, compared to 38% of beneficiaries with higher income.
