On May 8, 2012, a class action lawsuit was filed against United Behavioral Health. The lawsuit alleged that the company denied access to mental health treatment services in violation of the state's mental health parity act. The plaintiff alleged that the company conducted concurrent and prospective reviews of routine outpatient mental health treatments when no such reviews are conducted on par for routine outpatient treatments for other medical conditions.
