So many data points, so little information.

That was my observation about the addiction treatment field after thinking about the keynote address, Shatterproof: Reversing The Addiction Crisis By Transforming Perceptions, Treatments & Communities, by Gary Mendell, the chief executive officer of Shatterproof, at the 2023 OPEN MINDS Executive Leadership Retreat. Mr. Mendell shared his ten-year journey of creating and building his organization, Shatterproof (“the American Heart Association of the addiction treatment field”) and making it a force in ensuring access without stigma to prevention, treatment, and recovery support for substance use disorder with protocols guided by science.
