Rhode Island Medicaid Seeks 1115 Waiver Amendment For HCBS In Acute Care Settings
Rhode Island Medicaid is seeking federal approval to provide home and community-based personal care services (HCBS-PCS) to beneficiaries with physical or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in acute care hospital settings. According to the waiver text, the goal is to improve beneficiary experience during a short-term hospital stay, improve transitions of care back to the community, and reduce the risk that hospital stays will lead to institutionalization.
