Massachusetts Medicaid Considering Bundled Payment Model For Mental Health Centers
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is considering implementing a bundled payment model for mental health centers (MHCs) serving MassHealth (the state’s Medicaid program) beneficiaries. The goal is to better support beneficiaries with behavioral health needs via community delivered, team-based, and coordinated care. The bundled payment would cover a group of services. Additionally, EOHHS is considering a model in which payment levels are based on acuity as well as the services rendered.
