More Than 55% Of Children With Autism May Also Have ADHD

More than half of children diagnosed with autism may also have attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Based on analysis of child medical records referred for autism assessment, and a followup questionnaire regarding neurodivergent traits, researchers found that 55.6% of children had significant traits of ADHD. This is higher than ADHD prevalence in the general population, which is estimated to be between 5% and 7% in children.
