North Carolina To Launch Children & Families Specialty Health Plan For Those Involved In Child Welfare

North Carolina (NC) Medicaid is preparing to launch a statewide specialty health plan for children, youth, and families served by the child welfare system. The Children and Families Specialty Plan (CFSP) is anticipated to go live by December 1, 2024. In addition to covering all Medicaid state plan benefits, including 1915(i) Home and Community Based Services, the CFSP will be responsible for addressing unmet health-related resource needs, including housing, food, transportation, and interpersonal violence. On February 7, 2024, the state released the request for proposals (RFP 30-2024-001-DHB), with responses due by May 1, 2024.
