On February 1, 2024, the state of Florida sued the federal government over new requirements on continuous enrollment for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Starting January 1, 2024, the Biden administration requires states to give Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries under age 18 years with 12 months of continuous coverage whether or not families pay the monthly premiums. The state requested a preliminary injunction.
