Carelon Selected As ASO For California Children’s Behavioral Health School-Based Services

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) selected Carelon Behavioral Health for a contract as the administrative services organization (ASO) for the Child and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) multi-payer fee schedule for school-linked health and behavioral health services. The contract is valued at $400 million.

Carelon will be responsible for credentialing professionals, managing all local education agency (LEA) claims for services, and submitting the claims to Medicaid and other payers.

This is the first year for the contract. There was no incumbent.
