Cuyahoga County, Ohio is participating in a federal initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2010 to reduce the impact of direct and indirect violence on children who have been victims or witnesses to crime, abuse, neglect, or natural disasters. The county has partnered with the United Way of Cleveland to use the United Way's 2-1-1 service line that links callers to human services to identify affected children and link them to screening, assessment, and treatment.
